Bulldogs Defeat Broncos in Middle Game


The Western Michigan baseball team suffered an 11-3 defeat against The Citadel in the middle game of their weekend series. The game took place at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field in Kalamazoo, Mich. The Citadel took an early lead in the first inning, but Western Michigan tied the game in the second with a solo home run from Dylan Nevar. Nevar later helped WMU take the lead in the fourth inning with a base hit. However, The Citadel responded with a nine-run outburst in the fifth inning to regain the lead. They added another run in the sixth to make it 11-2. Western Michigan managed to score one more run in the ninth inning thanks to a RBI single from Tanner Mally. The Broncos and the Bulldogs will play their final game of the series on Sunday at 12:05 pm. Western Michigan’s record stands at 7-21, while The Citadel’s record is 18-14.
