Michael Bennett, a director at Booz Allen Hamilton, was recently honored with the 2025 College of Engineering and Computer Science Outstanding Alumnus Award by Wright State University. Bennett’s passion for computers began at a young age when he was captivated by his family’s first home computer in 1983. This led him to pursue a degree in computer science at Wright State, where he quickly landed a job in the industry and eventually transitioned to Booz Allen Hamilton, where he has been for over 38 years.
At Booz Allen Hamilton, Bennett leads a team of over 150 engineers specializing in physics-based modeling and analysis for the U.S. Department of Defense. His team provides critical engineering services to protect U.S. aircraft and assets against foreign threats. In addition to his technical contributions, Bennett also serves as the site lead for Booz Allen Hamilton’s Dayton office, overseeing more than 650 employees.
Despite his busy career, Bennett remains connected to Wright State as a corporate sponsor through Booz Allen Hamilton. He supports the College of Engineering and Computer Science by serving on its industry advisory board, participating in resume reviews and mock interviews, and celebrating scholarship recipients. Bennett credits Wright State for helping him achieve a career that he loves and finds supporting the university through corporate sponsorship rewarding.
Outside of work, Bennett enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking with his wife, and staying engaged with his church’s finance committee and leadership team. He also provides technology support for computer systems and audiovisual equipment. Bennett’s commitment to his career, community, and alma mater has earned him recognition as a distinguished alumnus of Wright State University.
