TC Energy has successfully completed repairs to a section of the ANR Pipeline system near Fennville, Michigan, which had been shut down due to a leak. The incident had caused a natural gas outage in the region, affecting around 5,200 homes.
In a statement released on April 11, TC Energy announced that natural gas service had been fully restored to Michigan Gas Utilities, the local distribution company in the area. The company also assured that Michigan Gas Utilities would provide further updates on efforts to restore natural gas service to the community.
The pipeline had been struck by a third party, leading TC Energy to isolate and shut down the damaged part of the system. The ANR pipeline system, which measures 9,367 miles (15,075 km) in length, transports over 10 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to U.S. Midwestern states.
The repairs mark a significant milestone in resolving the issue and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of natural gas through the region. TC Energy’s swift response to the incident underscores their commitment to the safety and well-being of the community. Residents can now breathe a sigh of relief as normal gas service resumes in the area.
