The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team is gearing up for its final regular-season tournament, the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio, hosted by Ohio State University, from April 18-19. The Eagles are looking to fine-tune their game before heading to the 2025 MAC Championships at the end of the month. The team lineup features strong players like Tim Chan, who recently set a school record with a score of 63 in a round, and Rory McDonald-O’Brien, who posted a season-best performance in the previous tournament.
The Eagles have been performing well this season, with several players ranking among the top 25 in program history for scoring averages. As a team, they currently hold the fourth-best average in program history and are looking to continue their success in the postseason.
The Robert Kepler Intercollegiate will feature 13 teams, including ranked opponents like Colorado State, Kent State, Nebraska, and host Ohio State. The Eagles have a history of success at this event, including a win in 2010 and multiple top-three finishes over the years.
After the Kepler Intercollegiate, the Eagles will shift their focus to the MAC Championships, where they will compete for conference gold. Head coach Andy Walker, who was named the Black College Golf Coaches Association Coach of the Year, is leading the team to another strong season. With a talented lineup and a successful season so far, the Eagles are poised for a strong finish as they head into postseason play.
