Operators in Michigan’s iGaming and sports betting industry generated a total revenue of $293.5 million in March.


Michigan’s commercial and tribal internet gaming operators have reported a combined total of $293.5 million in gross receipts for iGaming and internet sports betting in March, marking a 9.3% increase from February. iGaming gross receipts reached $260.5 million, the highest monthly total since internet gaming began, while sports betting receipts were $33 million. Adjusted gross receipts for iGaming and sports betting totaled $260.7 million, with a significant increase in iGaming AGR but a decrease in sports betting AGR compared to February.

The total online sports betting handle in March was $475.1 million, a 25.1% increase from February. As the industry continues to grow, the Michigan Gaming Control Board is taking action against unlicensed operators to protect consumers and ensure the integrity of the legal sports betting system. Recently, investigations have been opened into unlicensed sports prediction markets operating in the state.

Michigan is among the states cracking down on unregulated sweepstakes casinos, offshore sportsbooks, and sports prediction markets. The MGCB has banned more than 20 offshore gambling sites and is working to uphold the regulations in place for legal operators. With the industry on the rise, Michigan remains committed to regulating the iGaming market and protecting consumers.
