Harvard students take cover after shooting on subway platform

Transit police in Boston are investigating a shooting on a subway platform at Harvard University that occurred on Sunday. The school issued a shelter-in-place order for students and staff while authorities searched for the suspect. The suspect, armed with a gun, fired four to five rounds at a targeted individual on the southbound platform at the Harvard Square station before fleeing. There is no evidence that anyone was injured. Police were alerted to the incident around 2:15 p.m., and a message was sent to the Harvard community to shelter in place until further notice. The busy station is near the school’s main campus in Cambridge. The message was later removed from Harvard’s website. Transit police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
