The Central Michigan Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and CMU Athletics Department have announced the finalists for 14 awards to be presented at the 2025 Maroon & Gold Gala. The awards, which are chosen through nominations and votes from the student-athletes, cover the seasons of spring 2024, fall 2024, and winter 2025. The gala will be a formal event where student-athletes will dress up and enjoy dinner while awards are announced throughout the evening. Voice of the Chippewas Adam Jaksa will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
Some of the awards include Male Newcomer of the Year, Female Newcomer of the Year, Moment of the Year, Spring Impact Player of the Year, Male and Female Teammates of the Year, Coach of the Year, and more. Winners for awards such as the AD’s Leadership Award, Pat Podoll Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Academic Achievement Award, and Top Scholar-Athlete Award will also be announced at the gala.
The event is open only to Chippewa student-athletes, coaches, and members of the CMU athletics department. However, a live stream will be available for the general public, family members, and friends. The front page of the www.cmuchippewas.com website will host the link to the live stream one day before the event.
