Stephanie Hickman Boyse, a 1990 graduate from Michigan State University, has had an impressive career journey that led her to become the CEO and Co-Founder of the career and career preparedness social networking app, Jebbee. Boyse credits her time at MSU for helping her discover her passion and path in life. She switched majors three times during her time at the university, utilizing internships to gain hands-on experience in different industries. This flexibility allowed her to explore various paths and eventually led her to a successful career in corporate America and as the CEO of Brazeway for 27 years.
Now, Boyse is focusing on helping high school and college students navigate their career paths with Jebbee. She understands the challenges students face in choosing a career and wants to provide them with the tools to connect their interests to real-world pathways. Boyse grew up in a small town where opportunities were limited, and she saw the untapped potential in her peers who lacked exposure to different career possibilities. This inspired her to launch Jebbee with the mission of helping students find their passion and path.
Returning to MSU to speak to students about her journey and the launch of Jebbee felt like a full-circle moment for Boyse. She credits her time at the university for teaching her how to ask big questions, try new things, and embrace the idea that a career doesn’t have to follow a straight line. Boyse believes that MSU gave her the freedom and courage to evolve and the confidence to build something that could help others do the same. With Jebbee, Boyse hopes to close the gap for students who may not have access to the opportunities she did, empowering them to find their passion and pursue their dreams.
