Record-Breaking London Marathon Draws Over 56,000 Participants

The 2025 London Marathon, held on April 27, set a new world record with over 56,000 runners completing the 26.2-mile course through the capital. This year’s event surpassed the previous record of 55,646 finishers set by the New York City Marathon in November 2024. (reuters.com)

In the wheelchair categories, Switzerland’s Marcel Hug secured his fourth consecutive victory in the men’s race, clocking 1 hour, 28 minutes, and 38 seconds, while compatriot Catherine Debrunner won the women’s race in 1 hour, 38 minutes, and 52 seconds.
