Tim Staudt Nominated for Michigan Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025
LANSING, Mich. – Tim Staudt, Co-Sports Director at WILX-TV 10, has been announced as one of five finalists in the media category for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. The Hall of Fame opened its ballot for public voting, allowing fans to support their favorites until May 23. Each individual can cast one vote per verified email account.
Established in 1954 by prominent figures such as Lt. Governor Philip A. Hart and Michigan State University Athletic Director Biggie Munn, the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame is regarded as the oldest state sports hall of fame in the nation, with its inaugural class inducted in 1955. The Hall’s mission extends beyond honoring renowned athletes; it also celebrates those who have significantly promoted sports in Michigan.
Among the other notable finalists with ties to Mid-Michigan are former Michigan State Football Head Coach Mark Dantonio, ex-Spartan basketball star Jason Richardson, and Ken Morrow, a member of the U.S. Olympic hockey team famous for winning the gold medal in the "Miracle on Ice" game in 1980.
As the voting period progresses, fans are encouraged to participate in recognizing the contributions of these sports legends and media figures who have shaped the athletic landscape in Michigan.
