Trump Announces New Fighter Mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base
Macomb County, MI – In a significant announcement, President Trump revealed that Selfridge Air National Guard Base will welcome 21 new F-15EX Eagle II fighter jets, replacing the aging A-10 Warthogs. According to Michigan officials, Selfridge generates an impressive $850 million in economic impact for the state. Major General Paul Rogers emphasized the importance of this announcement, stating, "Without this decision, we would have lost our fighter flying mission," which secures approximately 600 jobs with annual earnings of about $30 million for the community.

In addition to maintaining existing jobs, the initiative is expected to create numerous construction opportunities. "We estimate up to $500 million in construction work over the next decade," Rogers noted, specifying the need for new hangers and enhancements to the runway to accommodate the new aircraft.
Furthermore, President Trump announced plans to modernize the refueling operations at Selfridge with new KC-135 and KC-46 Pegasus aircraft, ensuring long-term support for the base. "These will be top-of-the-line refuelers for generations," he affirmed.
