CHATHAM, Ill. (WICS) — The Chatham community is receiving an outpouring of support following a recent tragedy, drawing individuals from across the state and beyond. Among those showing solidarity is Dan Beazley, who traveled seven hours from Michigan to stand outside the Y.N.O.T. Center, actively sharing a message of faith, healing, and hope.
Beazley has dedicated nearly eight hours to this cause, holding a large wooden cross as a symbol of unity and support. “Everybody knows everybody here,” he remarked, emphasizing the community’s close-knit ties. He aims to remind residents that they are not alone in their grief by encouraging them to come together in healing. “The reason I bring the cross is so that it can bring us back to a center point of healing,” he explained, noting the importance of mutual support during such heart-wrenching times.
By engaging with locals, Beazley has felt a warm welcome and gratitude from the community for his presence. While he is unsure of his departure time, he remains committed to helping as long as needed.
