Leonard’s Syrups Purchases Midwest Juice in Michigan Beverage Sector Transaction

Midwest Juice Sold to Leonard’s Syrups in Strategic Acquisition

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Midwest Juice, a renowned fountain beverage and dispenser systems company based in Wyoming, has been acquired by Leonard’s Syrups, a Detroit-based family-operated business. The deal, facilitated by Grand Rapids-based Calder Capital, was announced recently with terms undisclosed.

Lucas Iskra, Vice President of Business Development at Leonard’s Syrups, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting that Midwest Juice’s exemplary reputation aligns with their core values. “We’re thrilled to welcome their team and customers into the Leonard’s Syrups family,” Iskra stated, anticipating growth and collaboration moving forward.

Founded in 1998 and located at 3993 Roger B. Chaffee Memorial Blvd. SE, Midwest Juice operates another facility in Livonia. The company specializes in dispensing systems for a variety of beverages including juice, coffee, soda, and nutrient water. It primarily serves assisted living centers and nursing homes, employing six staff members who will remain with Leonard’s Syrups post-acquisition.

The founder of Midwest Juice, who chose to retire, was not identified and wished to maintain anonymity. Calder Capital was tasked with finding a buyer for the company and received three competitive offers, ultimately selecting Leonard’s Syrups for its alignment with the needs of Midwest Juice’s clientele.

Scott Nicholson, a mergers and acquisitions advisor at Calder Capital, commended the successful sale, ensuring that the new ownership respects the legacy and investment made by the founder. The acquisition, finalized on April 1, aligns with Leonard’s strategic growth plans, especially in expanding its healthcare customer base across Michigan, enhancing service and delivery capabilities.

For further information, local business developments continue to unfold, such as the upcoming Tulip Time festival in Holland and new concert plans for the Acrisure Amphitheater.
