University of Florida Plans to Hire Santa Ono as New President
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida is set to appoint Santa Ono, currently president of the University of Michigan, as its new leader, following a unanimous recommendation from the search committee. The board of trustees is expected to meet Sunday to confirm his appointment, which is also subject to approval by the Florida Board of Governors.
“Dr. Ono’s proven record of academic excellence, innovation, and collaborative leadership at world-class institutions made him our unanimous choice,” stated Rahul Patel, chair of the presidential search committee.
