Rising Stars in Muskegon Athletics: Vote Today!
MUSKEGON, MI – Last week, MLive and the Muskegon Chronicle launched a call for community participation in selecting the top junior athlete for the upcoming spring sports season. This week, it’s time to shine a light on the underclassmen making waves in Muskegon’s spring sports.
Thanks to nominations from local coaches, a remarkable list of talented sophomores and freshmen has emerged, showcasing the depth of athletic prowess in the area. These young athletes are setting records, achieving personal bests, and contributing significantly to their teams.
Readers are invited to vote through noon on May 12, with the winner announced the following day. Among the standout nominees are:
- Morgan Andres (Newaygo): A track star with impressive times in the dashes and long jump.
- Braedi Baker (North Muskegon): A softball phenom with a .629 batting average and standout pitching stats.
- Cruz Beckstrom (Mona Shores): A freshman golfer leading in average, recently tying a school record.
- Karrie Baldwin (North Muskegon): A freshman soccer player making her mark in defense.
- Amelia Arnold (Spring Lake): Another track standout, competing at the state level.
In total, 50 athletes have been nominated, each contributing to their teams’ successes with remarkable individual performances. Noteworthily, freshmen like Addison Barefoot (Hart) and Justice Dixon (White Cloud) are also making headlines with strong records in soccer and track, respectively.
Voting is a crucial part of the process, allowing the community to have a voice in celebrating the rising stars who are the future of Muskegon athletics.
