Father Abandons Daughter During Alleged Home Invasion
Detroit, MI – In a shocking case, 29-year-old Andre Stephon-Curtis Broadenax has been charged for allegedly forcing his 11-year-old daughter to help him break into a house in Detroit, only to abandon her when confronted.
The incident transpired on April 29, when Broadenax reportedly stole a man’s car in nearby Dearborn and drove to a residential property under renovation. Upon arrival, prosecutors allege he coerced his daughter into joining him in the burglary.
“The defendant forced his 11-year-old daughter to assist him with the home invasion,” stated the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Their plans took a turn when the homeowner’s son unexpectedly entered the house and discovered Broadenax and his daughter, prompting the father to flee without regard for his child.
In a swift response, Detroit Police apprehended Broadenax shortly after he attempted to escape. Local residents expressed outrage over the incident, condemning Broadenax’s actions. “As a father of eight, I can’t fathom using my children for something so wrong,” said resident David Bridges, emphasizing the risks posed to both the daughter and the family.
