Cleveland – Frazier and Smitek Earn Academic All-MAC Honors
In a remarkable achievement for Western Michigan University, sophomore Julia Frazier and junior Audrey Smitek have been named to the prestigious Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Team, as announced by the MAC on Friday. This accolade recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional performance both in their athletic endeavors and academic pursuits.
To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participate in at least 50% of their sport’s scheduled contests. Notably, first-year and transfer students in their inaugural year at the institution are ineligible for this award. The recognition focuses solely on the athlete’s achievements during the current season.
Julia Frazier, representing Scottsdale, Arizona, receives this honor for the first time in her career. Currently pursuing a degree in sport management, she boasts an impressive 3.60 GPA. Meanwhile, Audrey Smitek, a seasoned contender in the academic arena, earns this accolade for the second consecutive year. The accountancy major currently holds a stellar GPA of 3.88.
