Eastern Michigan University’s Tennis Team Shines in Academic Excellence
Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has recognized Eastern Michigan University (EMU) for its commitment to academic excellence, with four student-athletes named to the Academic All-MAC team for tennis. Sabina Brichackova, Regina Mendez, Kseniia Saenko, and Prerna Vichare were honored for maintaining a GPA of 3.2 or higher while competing in a significant portion of the season.
Brichackova and Vichare have distinguished themselves by becoming the third and fourth EMU players in history to earn three Academic All-MAC awards, joining notable alumni Andrea Martinovska and Klara Supejova. This recognition marks a significant achievement in a program that has tallied 54 Academic All-MAC honors since 1987.
Brichackova, who ended her collegiate career with strong statistics—an 11-11 singles record and an 18-9 doubles mark—helped clinch vital points during dual matches. Vichare also had a stellar season, maintaining a 12-5 singles record and contributing significantly to the doubles roster.
Mendez had her best season yet, leading the team with 12 wins, while Saenko showcased versatility by playing multiple positions, helping the team achieve back-to-back 12-win seasons—the first since 2001-02.
This season, EMU’s tennis program has not only excelled on the court but also in academia, demonstrating the dedication of these student-athletes to their studies and their sport. Fans are encouraged to stay updated on the team’s progress through EMUEagles.com and their social media channels.
