Florida Man Extradited to Michigan for 2007 Sexual Assault Case
HILLSDALE, MI – A 60-year-old man has been extradited from Florida to Michigan to face charges related to a sexual assault dating back to 2007. Vincent Allen Payne was arrested by U.S. Marshals and arraigned on May 21, where he was formally charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The allegations involve the sexual assault of a 13-year-old relative, which occurred while Payne was living in the same residence in Hillsdale. Following his arraignment, the court set Payne’s bond at $300,000.
Payne’s probable cause conference is scheduled for May 28, as he remains in custody at the Hillsdale County Jail. This case, stemming from events nearly two decades ago, highlights ongoing efforts to address and pursue unresolved sexual assault cases.
