Man Arrested After Crashing into Michigan State Police Trooper’s Vehicle
LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, MI — In a harrowing incident on Saturday evening, June 7, a Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper narrowly escaped injury when a Missouri man crashed into the trooper’s patrol vehicle on I-94 near Mile Marker 25. The driver, identified as a 33-year-old resident of Missouri, was allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident.
The collision occurred while the trooper was conducting a traffic stop outside of the vehicle. Dashcam footage released by authorities shows the suspect veering off the shoulder of westbound I-94 and rear-ending the state police SUV. Fortunately, the trooper was uninjured in the incident, a fortunate outcome considering the circumstances.
This incident is particularly concerning as it marks the second crash involving a state police patrol vehicle in the same district within just a week, underscoring the inherent dangers officers face during routine traffic stops.
